Intangible Assets

The brand (licensed by Algar S.A.), the purpose of “People serving people,” sustainability and innovation are the primary intangible assets translating our identity and market presence and building our reputation. Because we consider these assets key to the success of our internal growth strategy, we are always at work valuing and improving each of them.

Our history imparts credibility, quality and innovation to the Algar Telecom brand. Since we were founded, we have pioneered the development and adoption of a series of technologies that enable us to tap new markets and offer first-rate services and solutions to our customers. One example of that was the launch of the 5G technology in our original service area, which provides the connection required to make telemedicine solutions possible, as well as Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

In addition to positioning ourselves as innovators, the proximity we have to our customers also sets us apart, whether as we provide benefits alike Algar Sempre (a benefit club that offers special discounts and cashback on a daily basis at more than 200 brick-and-mortar and online stores) or as we serve as partners on our journey with corporate customers, tracking and providing solutions that best fit the paths that companies have been increasingly taking to stand out in the market. In this regard, we have been investing into portfolio structuring and into improving our customer service, prioritizing five transformational journeys:

Connectivity
as stated, for instance, in the arrival of the 5G technology, which will enable customers to connect at high speeds with improved stability, ensuring a better digital experience.

The Future of Work
for which we provide solutions to support employee productivity and team work-facilitating resources..

Innovative Operation
which requires us to use digital sources to develop more assertive decision-making processes that are in line with customer requirements and expectations.

Digital Infrastructure
on this front, we offer Cloud Plus, infrastructure as a service solution (IaaS), providing data transfers free of charge, Cloud Backup, a secure data storage service through which customers can back up their files through an unlimited number of endpoints, physical and virtual servers, databases, applications and cloud-based workloads, and Hosting, which provides security and availability for customer operations, eliminating spending on software licensing, maintenance and new equipment.

Security
which we ensure by means that include SD-WAN Super Seguro, a network virtualization technology where traffic definitions are controlled by the software, creating a virtual overlap.

We work in line with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) best practices because we consider contributing to taking on and resolving current and future challenges, be it economic, environmental or social, to be one of the most important parts of our mission.

To that end, we find it indispensable to conduct ourselves according to high standards of ethics and responsibility in our relationships, as well as the impacts of our operations on the environment, economic development in Brazil and the social reality in the locations where we have a presence.

We carry out a series of programs and projects to ensure an effective climate and environmental governance of operations and the engagement with our stakeholders, and we also take actions to advance social conditions, with a series of initiatives through the Algar Institute. We are recognized in the market for our innovative solutions. In 2021, we registered 1 new patent and received a TopOpon Crops 2021 award as one of the telecom companies most open to the innovation ecosystem.

It comes as recognition for a good job at setting trends, developing new technologies, and creating opportunities for cooperation with other companies, startups, institutions and the community. On this front, we are the founding partners of Brain, a private research and technology organization, we have the Algar Telecom Station, a community of multidisciplinary teams developing ideas, products and services with autonomy and focus on customers, and we have Next, a technological transformation program that searches for, tests and implements cutting-edge technologies and disruptive solutions to enable an increasingly simple and digital business.

This profile allows us to introduce into the market products, services and solutions in line with digital transformation, with multi-connectivity, automation and artificial intelligence designed for different market segments. In addition, we four patent applications filed that resulted from the development of innovative solutions that deliver quality and efficiency to our business.
